I am a blogging slacker. Sorry for those devoted blog checkers who are sick and tired of looking at the same blog for weeks. Ok, I know I'm not as popular as I like to think I am, but it's good for the self-esteem boost.
So tonight Brock was reading - as usual. Which I love because he always shares his insights and I get to reap the benefits. Tonight, of course, was no exception. Here is the thought: the average American watches 6 hours of TV a day. By the time they are 65 they will have watched 15 years of tv!!!!!! 15 YEARS! You have go to be kidding me. I still can't believe it, that is crazy and so sad. Think of all the time wasted. I am not a big tv person, yes an American Idol and Office lover, but not an avid tv watcher. I think that not having cable makes this a lot easier. But I am not one to say that watching tv is bad. I find it a great non - life endangering way to relax and forget about my worries, but 6 hours a day, come on! Crazy.
On a happier note. I would like to tell all you fabulous mothers out there today HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! What a great day to remember all the wonderful women in my life. First my own mother who suffered much at my expense before she finally was able to hand me over to someone else. And who still today is one of my greatest supporters and confidants. I just love her so much. She is so strong and immovable. She really is my rock at times, someone who loves unconditionally and always makes me feel like I matter. What more could I ask for? She is also a 5 star Grandma with so much love for all her grandchildren. Thanks mom. Next are my two fabulous mother-in-laws whom I adore. They also have shown me so much love and support. When I married Brock I didn't realize that I was getting two instant role-models that would turn into two great friends, not to mention what fabulous Grandmothers they are. I can't end her lest we forget the key to this whole equation - JANE. Yes, I am not allowed to call her Grandma Jane, so we have given her the nickname Tatik. Which is Grandma in Armenian. Most of you know that Jane set Brock and I up (this is Brock's Grandmother.) It was right after his mission and ... well, the rest is history. Not only am I grateful for her quick whit and matchmaking skills, but I am grateful for the example she is to me and my children. Every time I see Jane she makes me feel like a million bucks. She is so great at paying compliments and making everyone feel important. She is also a fashion diva and so beautiful inside and out. Man, I am one lucky girl. I also need to tell all my girlyfriends out there, whether you are a mom or not today that I am extremely grateful for the friendships I have with all of you. What would a girl due without her grilfriends. I have learned something from each of you that has added so much to my life - thank you. I didn't even mention my sisters or my sisters-in-law. This could turn a long blog into short story. So unless you are my sisters you can stop here, but I can't end without talking about them. A girl needs a sister. There is nothing in life like a sister. And I once again lucked out in the sister category. My two older sisters are mothers and boy are they good ones. Seriously who needs parenting books, just watch Emily and Ginger parent and I promise that you will think they wrote the encyclopedia for how to be a GREAT Mom! They are amazing.
Than there is Becky - the youngest yet wise beyond her years. She was born ready to be a mom. She just gets it. And although when she actually does have kids it will be a rude awakening - as it was for most of us - for Becky it will be a small rude awakening. She will be awesome. Now Teddy, Keri, Natalie, Alison, and Bethany - my sisters - in - law. Wow that makes 8 sisters! Although I am not as close to some as I am to others I love that when we do all get together there is a lot of love to be shared. I am just constantly surrounded by great women and I feel very blessed.

poor Lucy! Did you have a good mother's day? What a nice tribute to every woman in your life. DOn't worry, you are as cool as you think you are. Even cooler. I've heard rumors of another Phoenix temple. Can it be true?
