Love Friday!

I am still in my pajamas at 10:00 - and it feels great. It's Friday and I am happy. Lucy was up until 2:00 last night wanting Brock - she is such a daddy's girl - and yelling that her legs hurt. I finally gave in and turned on Dora. She was quite and I got some much needed sleep.
Savannah didn't go to school today because I was too tired to get her up early enough to walk her down the hill to the bus stop with Lucy in tow, in 10 degree weather. I am a wimp.
With that out of the way I can now get to the point of this blog. I was sort of dreading this morning because my family is coming up for the weekend and my kids love, love, love their cousins and grandparents so they will constantly ask "when will they be here?" It drives me batty. And with Savannah home from school I thought I had dug my own grave. But as I was perusing cyberspace this morning for ideas I had a moment of inspiration. I made a little chore list for each of the girls and on top of the list I put 5 little smiley faces. I told the girls that if they were kind and good than they could keep their smiley faces, but if they hit, yelled, whined etc... than the smiley faces would be checked off and if they still had all their smiley faces by the time family was here they could play. If not they would stay home and help me unpack.
So far, so good and I am loving this morning. Let's hope it lasts more than an hour.

I can't remember the site I got this idea, but for Savannah's V-day cards we are giving this picture with a sucker stuck in her hand. Just cut a little slit on the top and bottom of her hand and stick in the sucker. Wish I could remember where I find it.

10am and still in your jammies? I totally have you beat. I think there were 3 days this week that I wore jammies til I showered and switched jammies to go to bed. Nice work with the smiley faces. It sounds like it's gonna work! Have fun with the fam.

What a great post! I love the card idea...I"m going to have to try that for sure in the future! I'd LOVE to come visit you when you are ready for visitors. I think jammies are manditory until like noon, aren't they? Parenting rule #1: THROW OUT ALL "CULTURAL EXPECTATIONS" YOU THINK YOU'RE DEALING WITH THAT YOU DON'T LIKE OR AREN'T WORKING!! :) Love ya sis
